It is more than 40 years since Hunter S Thompson published his book; Hell’s Angels.

If you haven’t already … get it – read it.

Observed in a Dive Bar this week …. biker guy – denim jacket – cut off sleeves, no shirt – tatoos up the arms – real hard case. On his back ‘ a big logo : ‘Satan’s Bitch’ … this guy took no prisoners. Nor did his two ‘colleagues’. Still, for all their hardness, they still went outside to smoke their cigarettes.

Kind of got me to thinking :

Hell’s Angels was an “up-close and uncompromising look at the Hell’s Angels motorcycle club, during a time when the gang was highly feared and accused of numerous criminal activities … and here we are now … they don’t even dare have a cigarette in a bar.

In my recent `New Year’ Greeting I commented that 2008 ‘might have been better’ …. a good friend (see blow for ful accreditation) replied thus;

“2008 was positive in many ways

Flying was enjoyable again with uncrowded airport and planes.

Both baluga and lobster are the cheapest for years.

You no longer have to book to dine at your favourite restraunt.

And to cap it all you can order a DB9 for next day delivery with 30 percent discount!

Not a bad year.”

Just overheard the following exchange :

“So – been a while – what brings you to London ?”

“Well – I don’t want to say I moved here for a girl – it sounds gay”

Excuse me – does he know what ‘gay’ means ?

…. says the sign attached to those railings in Hyde Park. I will endeavour to pick up a photo.

Walking through Green Park – stopped by a lovely couple.
“Excuse Me” started the conversation … “Is there a park around here?”
